State-of-the-Art Clinical Symposium
Annual Meetings
October 24–29, 2008, San Francisco
Join the American College of Rheumatology in Chicago for the 2008 State-of-the-Art Clinical Symposium. This
symposium will provide up-to-date, cutting-edge information
on a broad array of topics in rheumatology. The weekend will
start on Friday, April 11 with a preconference Practice Management Course: Evaluating and Managing a Successful Practice. At two convenient time slots during the weekend, workshops will be offered, providing an opportunity to interact with
topic experts in a small group setting. Each workshop will be
limited to 35 registrants, and an additional fee is required. The
State-of-the-Art Clinical Symposium will be held at the Renaissance Chicago Hotel April 11–13, 2008. For additional

Rheumatology Board Recertification Examination
Preparation Course
Rheumatologists who need to recertify in the next 10
years won’t want to miss the Rheumatology Board Recertification Examination Preparation Course, March 7–9, 2008 in
Atlanta. This course will be case-based and will focus on
disease management problems and key advances in practice
over the past 10 years. Experts will present the cases from
CARE 2007, which will include valued images to provide
knowledge to pass the ABIM Rheumatology Recertification
Examination. Participants will be eligible to receive both AMA
PRA Category 1 Credits and 20 points in the self-evaluation of
medical knowledge category for the Maintenance of Certification program for physicians enrolled with the American Board
of Internal Medicine and the 2007 CARE program. (To
receive ABIM points you must be enrolled in the ABIM
Maintenance of Certification program. Contact the ABIM at
www.abim.org to check your status. At the end of the program
submit your answers online through the CARE 2007 program
and receive MOC points. Discount rates apply to course

Diseases. September 15–17, 2008, Genoa, Italy. Sponsored by
the European League Against Rheumatism. The course is
especially geared toward trainees and young rheumatologists
(under 35 years old), for whom a special registration rate will
be offered. Deadline for registration is July 31, 2008. Official
language will be English (Italian translation will be provided).
