The Commonwealth
of Australia
The continent of Australia is
situated in the
Southern of hemisphere.
It is called the green sunny
continent.
The flag of
Australia
It has 3 main colours – red,
white and blue.
The Union Jack in the upper
left quarter
represents the historical link
with Britain .
The 5 small white stars form
the Southern
Cross.
The white seven-pointed
federal star represents the
Commonwealth of Australia.
The coat –
of arms
The kangaroo and the
emu and a twig
O wattle are
incorporated
In the coat –of arms of
Australia.
The national anthem
«Advance Australia
Fair» was adopted in the
1970s.
Canberra
It is the capital of
Australia, a young and
comparatively small city.
It houses many of
country’ s cultural
institutions.
Canberra is a place of
discovery, learning and
fun.
Sydney
It is the capital of
New South Wales
state, the largest and
oldest city in
Australia.
The symbol of
Sydney is Sydney
Opera House.
Sydney is blessed
with beautiful public
gardens , harbor
islands and unspoiled
foreshores.
Melbourne
It is the second
largest city in
Australia and the
largest port in the
country.
One of its places of
interest is the house
of Captain Cook ,the
famous British
navigator.
Hobart
It is a very
special place with
both modern and
historic charm.
Perth
Sunny beaches
,spectacular
green parks and
glittering
skyscrapers and
colonial
architecture.
Brisbane
It s a modern,
vibrant city with a
sunny, subtropical
climate and
unsurpassed natural
beauty.
Darwin
It is the largest city in
the sparsely
populated Northern
Territory.
It is the smallest
and most northerly of
the Australian capital
cities.
The Great
Barrier Reef
It is a garden under the
sea on the Coast of
Queensland .
There are 1400 different
kinds of fish, and more
than 300 kinds of coral.
Ayers Rock
In the Northern Territory
you find the real heart of
Australia – Ayers Rock.
This place is holy to the
Aborigines.
Tasmania
It is the island south of Australia.
There are no deserts in
Tasmania. It is covered with
beautiful wild forests.
The Blue
Mountains
They are covered
with forests
of blue coloured
eucalyptus trees.
The air above the
forest contains
drops of eucalyptus
oil.
When the sun
shines , the air of the
Blue Mountains is a
real, beautiful blue.
To my mind, this
presentation has
introduced you to
some aspects of
Australian life.
I am sure everyone
has got an insight on
Australia.
