Introduction
William Shakespeare is English poet and
playwright , often regards as the greatest
English-language writer and one of the best
playwrights in the world. He is the national
poet of England.

William Shakespeare’s family and his personality
William Shakespeare was born on April 23, 1564 in the
city of Stratford-upon-Avon in England in the family
craftsman John Shakespeare and Mary Arden.
He was baptized in the
church of Stratford, on April
26, 1564. He was only a few
days old.
William Shakespeare was
educated at the Local
Grammar School and later –
High School in Stratford.
John Shakespeare was William's father.
He was a maker of gloves. In later documents he was called a tanner.
John Shakespeare married Mary Arden, a daughter of a landowner in 1557.
At the age of 18 William Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway of
Shottery. When he was 21, he went to London. But his wife stayed in
Stratford. Nobody knew why he left Stratford-upon-Avon.
Shakespeare wrote 37 plays.
The tragedies: King Lear, Hamlet, Othello, Macbeth.
The comedies: All’s well that ends well, Twelfth Night.
The historical dramas: Henry IV, Richard III.
William Shakespeare‘s famous works.
Hamlet
(1601)
"Hamlet " by Shakespeare - is the cry
of the soul. It is a brilliant foresight of
a typical man of the time .
He suffered for humanity.
He made high demands on life.
He disappointed in the expectation.
Othello and Macbeth
(1604 – 1611)
“Othello” and “Macbeth” are the world
famous tragedies. People all over the world
enjoy reading them.
King Lear
(1605—1606)
It is one of the famous deep
tragedies. “King Lear” is the history
of tyrannical King, who understood
his mistakes, but could not change
anything.
There are several portraits of Shakespeare,
but it is not known which of them is real.
Shakespeare’s signature
In 1610 Shakespeare returned
to Stratford-upon-Abon. He
spent the last years of his life
there. William Shakespeare
died in 1616. He was buried in
the church of Stratford.
Conclusion
I am convinced that William Shakespeare is the greatest English writer. He is the
most prominent playwright who has ever lived.
William Shakespeare’s knowledge of the stage and his poetical genius made his
plays the most wonderful ones ever written. All my friends read Shakespeare’s
works as well as I do.
