A letter has been rrceived from Mr. Mucbar of the
Royal Observatory, Cape of Gard Hope dated. March 9. 1846,
of which the folluwing is an extract.

Its small companion cotitinues to recede lion1 it. They are
110th s o faint a t present, owing to the strong moonlight, that
measures of their relative distance canaot now be obtained.
T h e following differences in R.A. and Declination will give
some idea of their rate of separation.
