2004 Intercalation H 2100 X-Ray Diffraction, Topographical Studies, and Thermal Behavior of Layer-Type 2S4-xSex (1.75 ≤ x ≤ 2.75) and Its Lithium Intercalation Compounds. — The 51- 020 CdIn reddish brown title compounds are characterized by XRD, radial distribution function analysis, TGA, and scanning tunneling microscopy. They possess a layer structure of the ZnIn2S4—IIIa type. The lattice parameters a and c both increase with an increasing amount of Se in the samples. The platelike crystals are not perfectly smooth, but small crystallites are intergrown with the surface. The lithium intercalated compound Li1.1CdIn2S2Se 2 shows that the crystallite size decreases due to the intercalation while the fractional change in interlayer spacing and the fraction of planes affected by defects increases. The process of intercalation does not result in an expansion of the lattice parameter c. — (SRIVASTAVA*, S. K.; PRAMANIK, M.; PALIT, D.; HAEUSELER, H.; OCHEL, M.; Chem.
