2005 Structure D 2000 16- 009 Tb3O2Cl[SeO3]2 and Tb5O4Cl3[SeO3]2: Oxide Chloride Oxoselenates(IV) of Trivalent Terbium with "Lone-Pair" Channel or Layer Structures. — The title compounds are prepared by solid state reaction (evacuated silica tube, 850 °C, 7 d) of either a stoichiometric mixture of Tb4O7, Tb, TbCl3, and SeO2 (12:8:7:42) for Tb3O2Cl[SeO3]2 (I) or a mixture of Tb4O7, Tb, TbOCl, TbCl3, and SeO2 (9:6:21:7:28) for Tb5O4Cl3[SeO3]2 (II). The structures of (I) (orthorhombic, space group Pnma, Z = 4) and (II) (monoclinic, space group C2/m, Z = 2) are determined by single crystal XRD and detailed descriptions are given. — (WONTCHEU, J.; SCHLEID*, T.; Z.
