2005 Luminescence D 6540 A Novel Red phosphor for White Light Emitting Diodes. — The new red phosphor 3+ for white light emitting diodes is prepared by solid state reaction in air 4:Eu 22- 010 CaMoO from stoichiometric mixtures of MoO3, CaO, and Eu2O3 (700 °C, 3 h). The samples are characterized by XRD and excitation and emission spectroscopy. This phosphor can be effectively excited by UV (394 nm) and blue (464 nm) light, and exhibits a satisfactory red performance (616 nm). The novel phosphor is much more stable and has stronger emission intensity than the sulfide red phosphors used in white LEDs. — (HU, Y.; ZHUANG*, W.; YE, H.; WANG, D.; ZHANG, S.; HUANG, X.; J.
