2005 Lanthanoids I 2800 30- 025 Chemical Vapor Transport and Crystal Structure of Rare-Earth Arsenates(V). — Crystals of LnAsO4 (Ln: Sc, Y, La—Lu) and of selected solid solutions (e.g. Pr0.5Nd0.5AsO4, La0.5Pr0.5AsO4, Er0.5Yb0.5AsO4) are prepared by endothermic chemical transport with TeCl4 as transport agent (evacuated quartz tube, 1333—1353 → 1223—1263 K, temp. gradient 100—125 K). The gaseous phase of the transport reaction is studied by mass spectrometry. Single crystal XRD data are reported for LaAsO4 and NdAsO4 (both space group P21/n, Z = 4) and for HoAsO 4 and ScAsO4 (space group I4 1/amd, Z = 4). — (SCHMIDT, M.; MUELLER, U.; GIL, R.
