The automatic gate opener and closer comprises a drive motor fixed to
the ground and driving a rack gear linked to the gate frame. The
electric motor and its associated reduction gearbox is of the compact,
flat type used to drive automotive windscreen wipers. A low voltage DC
supply is used to power the motor. The motor is pref. mounted on a
nylon support fixed to a tube which is buried vertically in the
ground. A nylon guide block ensures that the rack gear remains in
contact with the pinion wheel at the output of the reduction gearbox.
The rack is pivoted from a bracket mounted on the gate frame away from
the gate hinges, allowing the gate to be opened or closed by
energising the electric motor with the appropriate polarity.

La pressente invention concerne les dispositifs permettant ltouverture
et la fermeture automatique des portails a un ou deux vantaux.
Dans les dispositifs connus de ce genre, les moteurs sont relativement
encombrants, ce qui nuit a L'esthetique du portail.
D'autre part, ces moteurs etant concus et fabriques specialement pour
cet usage, leur prix est eleve.
Le dispositif objet de llinvention supprime ces incongenients car il
fait appel a des moteurs de leve-glace d'automobile qui presentent les
deux etre extra-plats et d'etre bon marche puisque, fabriques en tres
grande serie.
Selon un mode de realisation represente par la figure 1, le dispositif
se compose d'un moteur de leve-glace d'automobile 1, monte sur un
support en nylon 2, lul-meme fixe sur un tube 3 scelle au sol.
Le vantail 4 est entraine par une cremaillere 5 dont le guidage est
assure par un guide en nylon 6 articule autour de l'axe du pignon du
moteur.
Les moteurs sont alimentes par l'intermediaire d'urs coffret
electrique contenant un transformateur, un pont de diodes, un
inverseur et une minuterie permettant de n'alimenter les moteurs que
pendant le temps necessaire a l'ouverture ou a ia fermeture des
vantaux.
La manoeuvre est commandee a l'aide d'un emetteur radio code, le
recepteur etant situe dans le coffret electrique.
Le dispositif objet de l'invention peut etre adapte sur la plupart des
portails existants.

REVENDICATIONS.
1. Dispositif d'ouverture et de fermeture automatique des portails
caracterise par le fait qu'il colporta un moteur d'entrainement (1)
scelle au sol, entrainant une cremaillere (5) reliee au vantail (4!.
2. Dispositif selon la revendication 1 caraeterisc par le fait queJe
moteur est un n.oto-reducteur extra-plat alimente par un ccurant
continu basse tension, utilise couramment comme "moteur de leve-glace
d'automobile".
3. Dispositif selon la revendication 1 caracterise par le fait que le
moteur est monte sur un support en nylon (2), lui-meme fixe sur un
tube (3) scelle au sol.
4. Dispositif selon la revendication 1 caracterise par le fait que la
cremaillere est guidee dans son m.ouverent par un guide en nylon (6)
articule autour de l'axe du pignon du moteur.
5. Dispositif selon la revendication 1 caracterise par le fait que les
moteurs ne sont alimentes que pendant le temps necessaire l'ouverture
ou a la fermeture des vantaux, grace a un temporisateur pneumatique ou
electronique.
